Mr. Miller is Chief Corporate Counsel (Safety, Health, Environment, and Community (SHEC) & Compliance) for the North America Metals region of Sims Metal Management (SMM) and Joint Company Secretary for the parent company, headquartered in New York City, having joined SMM as legal counsel in 1997. Sims Metal Management is the largest listed global metals and electronics recycler, with over 250 locations and more than 6,000 employees on five continents. In his role, Mr. Miller is responsible for managing a variety of litigation and other legal, legislative, compliance, sustainability, communications and SHEC matters for SMM, both domestically and globally. Mr. Miller is an active participant in his industry’s trade association, ISRI, serving and having served in a leadership or active role on a range of committees addressing issues ranging from metal theft to safety and government relations. Mr. Miller is a lawyer and engineer by training and background, having received his JD at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his MSCE at MIT.
