Nicole Abene, former NYCELLI Director and current Executive Board member
Nicole Abene served as the Director of NYCELLI from 2022 to 2024. She was a member of the NYCELLI class of 2020, and her environmental project focused on the accessibility for advocate participation in Federal Energy Regulatory Commission proceedings.
In 2022, Nicole joined the Building Decarbonization Coalition as the Senior NY Legislative & Regulatory Manager. Before joining BDC, Nicole worked for the City of New York for nearly seven years – first as a Senior Legislative Attorney at the New York City Council, and then as the Deputy Director for Legislative Affairs at the NYC Mayor’s Office of Climate and Sustainability.
Nicole holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies from New York University, and a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law, where she was a Stein Scholar.
